  1. The album is built around the classic singles "Breaking the Law" and "Living After Midnight," both big hits in the U.K., which openly posit Priest as a party band for the first time. But British Steel is hardly a complete break from the band's past.

  2. The album's most popular track, "Living After Midnight", proved that Judas Priest could strike a balance, garnering radio airplay with the big sounding party anthem. While the upbeat and infectious "Living After Midnight" grabbed the attention of the masses, the rebellious "Breaking the Law" packed the biggest punch from British Steel.

"British Steel" () shows a NWOBHM-like Judas Priest, as the sound of the band was losing its elaborated '70s feel on their last albums (Stained Class, Killing Machine), turning their music into a more direct and anthemic kind of hard rock. But also its highlights (real 'hits' some of them) make of "British Steel" a great album, namely "United", "Breaking the Law" and "Living After Midnight.
